Fire Safety Manager

Our client is a leading residential and commercial property consultancy, they implement property and facilities management services across a large and varied portfolio. They are recruiting for a Fire Safety Manager to be responsible for determining and implementing fire safety strategy and a management system that ensures fire and building safety risks are appropriately managed across the managed portfolio. This is a unique opportunity, at a time of significant legislative change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an effective fire safety management system aligned to BS 9997:2019.
  • Prepare relevant properties and building managers for the introduction of the Building Safety Bill, including collation of golden thread information, resident engagement strategy and building safety cases.
  • When the role is introduced in law, act as the ‘nominated individual’ where Promise is appointed as Building Safety Manager, performing specific Building Safety Manager duties for buildings in the absence of competent people on site
  • Oversee the fire risk assessment program
  • Assist with the operational arrangements and management strategy for mixed used properties.
  • Maintain good awareness of new and forthcoming legislation and guidance, assessing its impact on the fire safety management system and building operations

Key Skills:

  • Member of the Institute of fire engineers
  • Experience delivering risk-based fire safety solutions at residential properties.
  • Have a sound understanding of risk assessment and a practical approach to risk management.
  • A self—starter with a good degree of initiative and self—motivation who can take ownership of tasks and deliver effective work without the need for close supervision.
  • Personality and flair to communicate with others in a professional and helpful manner at all levels in a variety of communication methods.
  • Able to manage, motivate others to perform at a high level and develop their own professional competency.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to explain complex issues in a clear and concise manner.

This is a permanent Role

Salary: DOE + Package
